WHAT IS GM SUPER CRUISE?

GM Super Cruise is a revolutionary driver assistance feature and has changed driving as we know it. It allows for a truly hands-free driving experience and lets the driver stay tuned to what’s most important, keeping their eyes on the road. For 2022, GM Super Cruise is available on two GMC vehicles, the GMC Hummer EV Pickup and GMC Sierra. In 2023, Super Cruise will expand to more General Motors vehicles including the Hummer EV SUV. Super Cruise is a driver assistance feature that is available on more than 200,000 miles of highway between the U.S. and Canada. This system allows drivers to release the steering wheel and pedals…

so they can sit back and enjoy the ride. Once you’ve made it to a highway that supports Super Cruise, turn the cruise control system on and a green indicator light on the driver’s instrument cluster shows that Super Cruise is available. From there, the system takes over. It’s as easy as that!

GM Super Cruise also activates Adaptive Cruise Control which will automatically maintain the driver-selected distance from the detected vehicle ahead. Enhanced Automatic Emergency Braking uses radar to help avoid or reduce the severity of an accident. Lane-Centering is a feature that detects curves with the vehicle’s cameras, sensors and GPS. All of these features help navigate through traffic to keep the driver and their passengers out of harm’s way. 

Hummer EV Specs

There is also a camera at the top of the steering wheel column that monitors head position. If the driver looks away from the road for an extended period of time, a bar on the screen will start flashing red and the seat will start vibrating. This is the vehicle’s way of bringing the driver’s head forward, regaining their attention.
