GMC DEBUTS NEW TECHNOLOGIES AND FEATURES TO MAKE TRAILERING SAFER AND EASIER THAN EVER!

The slate of new and enhanced trailering technology that will be available on both 2021 GMC Sierra 1500 and HD models includes:

Trailer Length Indicator: When driving on the highway in your new 2021 GMC Truck, hit the turn signal and the center-dash touchscreen will automatically display a rearward view showing both the trailer, traffic on at side and the road immediately behind your trailer, and a red overlay twice the length of the trailer helping you decide more easily if it’s safe to change lanes.

Jack-Knife Alert: Also new for 2021, GMC’s Jack-Knife Alert keeps track of both the back of your GMC truck and the position of a hitched-on trailer. If you turn too sharply and the system senses you’re in danger of a jack-knife situation that might damage your bumper, bodywork or trailer, the system deploys audio and visual alerts to help you stop before things get… expensive. 

Enhanced Rear Trailer View: While a lot of trucks these days have a rear view to help you keep an eye on your trailer, 2021 GMC trucks will now features enhanced virtual guidelines and an all-new trailer-angle indicator that displays the relationship between the truck and trailer, for spot-on hitch-ups, even in situations where you can’t back up squarely to the trailer. Enhanced Rear Side View: When towing a trailer, backing up is the time when most mishaps happen. The 2021 GMC’s enhanced rear side view is now available when backing up, giving drivers access to a split-screen view of both sides of the trailer on the center-dash touchscreen, making it easier to see obstacles and potential hazards when backing into a tight spot.Enhanced

Cargo Bed View: Keeping an eye on your load is crucial when hauling, and the 2021 GMC Sierra 1500 and HD make it easy with the new Cargo Bed Zoom, which allows you to zoom in on details of your payload, including straps, tiedowns and attachment points.
