Buick recently announced that the Buick Regal will be elevated to their ultra-premium Avenir line for 2019, joining the Buick Enclave and LaCrosse in the exclusive top-tier trim package.
The flagship models in the Buick lineup, Avenir cars receive luxury amenities and design details inside and out, including real wood accents, a laundry list of high end standard options, and special badging, wheel and trim packages on the exterior to set them apart. “Avenir” is a French word meaning “Future,” and was first used by Buick in connection with the super-luxurious Buick Avenir concept car introduced at the 2015 North American Auto Show.
In a press release by Buick hyping the introduction of the 2019 Buick Regal Avenir, the company said that since the Enclave Avenir was introduced last fall, the line has sold faster than all other Enclave trim packages combined, comprising a full 20 percent of the model’s total sales in the U.S. Likewise, the LaCrosse Avenir is selling at a pace 70 percent faster than other LaCrosse trim packages. With 50 percent of all Buick Regal sales being Regals outfitted with the top-tier trim package, the company expects the 2019 Buick Regal Avenir to experience a similar sales bump.
“Avenir sales have exceeded our expectations,” said Phil Brook, vice president of Buick and GMC Marketing. “Buick customers value the exclusive styling, premium features and convenient experience Avenir provides, and we are excited to extend that successful formula to Regal.”
In the release, Buick announced that the 2019 Buick Regal Avenir will receive Buick’s first Infotainment System that can connect to cloud storage on the internet, allowing for the use of embedded, customizable apps that the company hopes will enhance how customers interact with their cars. The system allows for the use of individualized profiles if the car is used by several drivers, along with available navigation, voice recognition, and more. Owners will also be about to take their personalized settings with them by porting their personal profile into any compatible GM vehicle.
Other Avenir-only details that will be available on the 2019 Buick Regal Avenir include Whisper Beige interior theme with real Ebony accents, diamond-quilted front seats, first row headrests embroidered with the Avenir logo, and Avenir-etched sill plates. A nine-speaker Bose audio system is standard. An interior theme in “Ebony” is also available. When it comes to exterior styling, the 2019 Regal Avenir will feature a three-dimensional mesh upper grille, Avenir script badges on the front doors, and 19-inch Pearl Nickel rims. Under the hood will be Buick’s 250-horsepower 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder, backed by a nine-speed automatic transmission.
Pricing on the new 2019 Buick Regal Avenir will not be announced until early fall 2018, when new models arrive at the dealerships.
