Since it was introduced back in 2006, the GMC Acadia has been helping drivers find their way to new adventures in one of the most reliable, stylish and capable vehicles GMC has ever made. With the introduction of the redesigned 2020 GMC Acadia, GMC has managed to make a great SUV even better, with an all-new turbocharged engine, the latest in GMC connectivity, and the introduction of the all-new AT4 trim level for an even more refined drive.
“The 2020 Acadia is stylish, functional and capable with more of the smart convenience and connectivity features that customers rely on every day,” said Duncan Aldred, vice president of Global GMC. “And…
with GMC’s signature refinement at its core, the new Acadia advances the brand’s commitment to offering premium vehicles for discerning crossover customers.”The list of new features in the 2020 GMC Acadia, GMC’s midsize SUV that still seats up to seven in comfort, is long. These include:
BOLDER EXTERIOR DESIGN, INCLUDING THE ALL-NEW AT4 TRIM: With an all new grille, redesigned front and rear fascias, and the addition of GMC’s signature C-shaped headlights and tail-lights, the 2020 GMC Acadia accentuates the model’s sculpted good looks. Want a more aggressive, off-road vibe? Then check out the all-new 2020 GMC Acadia AT4, which features a black-chrome accented grille, unique 17-inch wheels and all-terrain tires, and a standard twin-clutch all-wheel drive system for sure-footed traction no matter what the conditions or road surface.
ALL NEW TURBOCHARGED ENGINE: All-new for the 2020 GMC Acadia is the new 2.0-liter turbo engine. Featuring GM’s cutting-edge Tripower Valvetrain Technology that varies valve lift depending on power needs, Active Fuel Management cylinder deactivation to improve fuel economy, and innovative twin-scroll turbocharger design for the perfect balance of power and low-end torque, the engine delivers 230 horsepower and 258 lb.-ft. of torque. It joins the available 2.5-liter naturally-aspirated inline four cylinder and 3.6-liter V6 in the Acadia engine lineup.
ALL NEW NINE SPEED TRANSMISSION: Whichever engine you choose, the 2020 GMC Acadia features an all-new nine-speed automatic, which can keep the 2020 GMC Acadia in the power and torque “sweet spot” no matter what your power needs, with better acceleration and a reduction in engine noise. To save room in the passenger cabin, the shift lever in the center console has been replaced by electronically-controlled gear selection by intuitive push buttons and triggers on the steering wheel.
ALL NEW TECHNOLOGY AND CONNECTIVITY: Customers’ desire for ever-more connectivity on the road seems to grow every year, and the 2020 GMC Acadia delivers with the next-generation GMC Infotainment System. Offering improved voice recognition, a higher resolution touchscreen and an interface that is simplified and easier to use, the system features an 8-inch diagonal screen and incorporates several all new or enhanced features, including the new Personal Profile function that allows you to set and save audio, navigation, heat and AC settings, with the ability to wirelessly transfer those settings to any other late-model GM vehicle. Up to four profiles can be saved in the system and assigned to a specific keyfob, with the 2020 GMC Acadia recognizing and automatically instituting that unique profile as that driver gets into the driver’s seat.
