2021 Canyon

For several years now, GMC has been expanding their AT4 trim level brand wide, upping the capability and style of already beautiful trucks and SUVs while giving them a signature adventure-ready look outside and the utmost in luxury inside. Now it’s time for the mid-size GMC Canyon to join in the off-road luxury, with GMC’s unveiling of the all-new 2021 GMC Canyon AT4. McLarty Daniel GMC is itching to get our hands on a few of these premium off-roader pickups, but for now, read on for everything we know about the all-new 2021 GMC Canyon AT4

“The new 2021 Canyon AT4 broadens the appeal to midsize truck customers who live an active lifestyle,” said Duncan Aldred, vice president of Global Buick and GMC. “Much like the Sierra AT4 has…

attracted new customers from outside GMC, the Canyon AT4 will attract outdoor enthusiasts looking for a premium midsize truck to GMC with the capability, technology and refinement they’ve come to expect.”

The first-ever GMC Canyon pickup to wear the AT4 badge, the 2021 GMC Canyon AT4 dazzles with bold exterior design, including the AT4 line’s exclusive Dark Chrome finishes, a larger grille design and red recovery hooks, like those seen on the big brother Sierra AT4. Underneath the skin, the Canyon AT4 gets the most rugged gear GMC has to offer, including an off-road tuned suspension with Advanced Hill Descent Control, an Eaton G80 auto-locking rear differential, a transfer case skid plate to protect the driveline from impacts and more. Putting the power to the ground are big ol’ 31-inch Goodyear DuraTrac tires mounted on signature Dark Chrome 17-inch alloy wheels. Inside, the GMC Canyon AT4 will up the refinement, with a leather interior with unique Kalahari stitching and AT4 logos embroidered into the headrests.

“This is a truck created with outdoor adventurers in mind,” said Aldred. “The Canyon AT4 is a perfect complement to the driver’s other passions and appreciation of the details, whether that’s a mountain bike, a snowboard or their truck.”

The new Canyon AT4 is powered by either the 3.6-liter V8 with best-in-class 308 horsepower to help you muscle through the rough out on the trail, or the optional 2.8-liter Duramax turbodiesel, a compact powerhouse delivering a whopping 369 lb.-ft. of torque. Properly equipped, the 2021 GMC Canyon AT4 will be able to tow up to 7,000 pounds, meaning you can hitch up and bring toys like dirt bikes, wave runners, a ski boat or even a camping trailer along for the ride the next time you decide to light out for adventure.

The new 2021 GMC Canyon, including the 2021 Canyon AT4, will be proudly built in the USA, at General Motors’ Wentzville Assembly Center in Wentzville, Missouri. Shipping to dealerships will begin later this summer, with starting prices for the 2021 Canyon AT4 announced soon.
