YUKON

The wait is finally over! Earlier this month, GMC released the first images and details about the all-new 2021 GMC Yukon and Yukon XL. With major styling points adapted from the redesigned 2020 GMC Sierra 1500 truck, plus an all-new suspension and many top-shelf upgrades, the 2021 GMC Yukon and Yukon XL are poised to change the game when it comes to full-size SUV design, handling, comfort, power, safety and technology. While the 2021 GMC Yukon and Yukon XL won’t be on the lot at McLarty Daniel Buick GMC until later this year, read on for everything we know about these incredible new SUVs.

“GMC Yukon is the full-size premium SUV that’s made to be used,” said Duncan Aldred, vice president of Global Buick and GMC. “The new Yukon delivers what customers value most – premium features, purposeful…

technology and all-terrain capability.”

From the brand known for uncompromising SUV luxury, the 2021 GMC Yukon comes roaring out of the gate with the luxurious Denali upscale trim and the first-ever Yukon AT4, raising the bar when it comes to premium off-road comfort and technology. Inside and out, the 2021 Yukon features the carefully-curated materials and craftsmanship you’ve come to expect from GMC, with more technology and safety features than ever. Inside, the 2021 Yukon’s interior is completely redesigned, with features including an all-new Power Sliding Center Console that can slide forward or backward up to 10 inches to help you customize interior space. Helping keep you in command and informed is a new 15 inch multicolor Heads-Up Display that projects speed, navigation information, safety alert and more unobtrusively onto the front windshield. The 2021 Yukon also features a wheelbase that’s five inches longer than the previous model, for more interior room and more cargo room thanks to a revised rear suspension that allows for a flatter, lower rear load floor.

When it comes to engineering and power, the 2021 Yukon and Yukon XL rush to the head of the class as well, with features including a class-exclusive four-corner Air Ride Adaptive Suspension that raises the body two inches automatically when four-wheel drive mode is engaged, for more ground clearance and a more comfortable ride. Under the hood, the 2021 Yukon shines again with the most powerful available engine of any full-size SUV: the next-generation 6.2-liter V8 with dynamic fuel management, delivering 420 horsepower and 460 lb.-ft. of torque for huge maximum towing capability. The 2021 GMC Yukon and Yukon XL are also available with the all-new 3.0-liter Duramax turbodiesel, for massive low-end torque and fuel economy of up to 30 mpg. Putting that power where you need it is an all-new 10-speed transmission and Active Response four-wheel drive, sending power to an electronic Limited Slip differential. The system continuously monitors road conditions, automatically sending power to the wheels with the most grip for the utmost in traction, handling and control.

YUKON DENALI

The other big news for the 2021 Yukon is the upgraded Denali package, pushing luxury to new heights. “Yukon was the model in which Denali originated in 1999, and now more than 20 years later, we’re introducing the quintessential Denali,” says Helen Emsley, executive director of Global Buick and GMC Design. “It delivers a first-class experience with an all-new, exclusive interior and a bolder, more distinctive exterior design.”

For the first time ever, 2021 Yukon Denali models will feature a model-exclusive interior with a signature instrument panel, upgraded seats, and your choice of four color themes. Each of the four themes includes matching trim in a signature wood, plus leather upholstery that’s cut and stitched by hand. Outside, the 2021 Yukon Denali is just as luxe, featuring a Galvano chrome grille that’s larger and more detailed, with over 10,000 reflective surfaces, plus signature lighting effects to further set the Denali models apart.

YUKON AT4

The GMC AT4 family of luxury off-road models has been growing by leaps and bounds in recent years, with Acadia, Canyon, Sierra 1500 and Sierra HD all raising the bar on all-terrain comfort and style. The 2021 Yukon AT4 is the next to get the AT4 treatment, with a rugged look and purpose-first engineering for the ultimate in all-terrain capability. In addition to a unique front fascia, wheels and trim, the Yukon AT4 features the available four-corner Air Ride Adaptive Suspension, offering an additional 2 inches of ground clearance at the push of a button, for an approach angle of up to 32 degrees. Helping power you through are 20-inch Goodyear all-terrain tires, Hill Descent Control, a full complement of heavy-duty steel skid plates and more. Inside, the 2021 Yukon AT4 goes big on luxury, with exclusive leather seating in Jet Black with Brandy accents and stitching, a heated, leather-wrapped steering wheel, heated and ventilated front seats and heated second row seats. “Our mission with the next-generation Yukon was to create an off-road capable vehicle with a premium interior, advanced technology and class-leading space for eight people and their cargo,” said Jim Danahy, executive chief engineer of full-size trucks.
