Experience the new GMC Hummer EV

Get ready, Bentonville, because the GMC Hummer EV is back for another round! The 2025 GMC Hummer EV is the latest iteration of GMC’s massive and powerful Hummer. But this isn’t the Hummer you know from the early days; while the old Hummer was a gas-guzzling behemoth, the Hummer EV is built with electricity and environmental-friendliness in mind.

Whether you’re looking for the traditional SUV Hummer or the pickup truck version, the Hummer EV is the perfect way to balance massive power and performance with electric power and savings at the pump. Let’s dive into how GMC has updated the Hummer EV from 2024 to 2025.

New Features in 2025

When you’ve got a good thing going, there’s no need to make major changes. That seems to be GMC's approach with its latest Hummer EV. Not much has changed between the 2024 and 2025 models; the Hummer EV still offers the same powertrain options, technology, safety features, and Crabwalk mode.

The only changes GMC is offering with the 2025 Hummer EV are new exterior color options. Solar Orange and Graphite Blue Metallic are brand new colorways that can bring even more attention to your already attention-grabbing Hummer, especially the Solar Orange!

Power and Performance

The Hummer EV comes in two model options—a traditional SUV and a pickup truck—to suit every driver and need, whether it’s taking the family on a road trip or using the Hummer’s massive horsepower to haul pretty much whatever you can imagine.

Speaking of horsepower, let’s talk about the power options available. The Hummer EV comes in two configurations: the 2x and the 3x. The 2x includes two electric motors capable of producing 570 horsepower and 7,400 pound feet of torque. Even more impressive is the 3x, with three electric motors and a staggering 1,000 horsepower and 11,500 pound feet of torque! There are not many vehicles on the market that can produce as much power, and certainly not many that can do it with an electric motor as opposed to a combustion engine.

The powerful electric motor on the 3x also allows the Hummer EV to achieve 0 to 60 MPH in an impressive 3.3 seconds with the WTF (Watts to Freedom) launch control. No vehicle as heavy as the Hummer EV can achieve anywhere near that speed! You’ll be the talk of the racetrack when you bring your Hummer EV to race all the traditional muscle cars!

Electric Capabilities

As mentioned, the Hummer EV is an all-electric powered vehicle with two available electric motor configurations. The standard EPA range on the 2x is 318 miles, while the 3x gets an estimated 367 miles due to its additional motor. If you’re worried about charging, never fear; the Hummer EV supports 800V DC fast charging. That means it can add up to 100 miles of range in only 10 minutes.

For at-home charging, the Hummer EV takes about 10.5 hours to charge to full capacity on a 240V Level 2 outlet.

Technology for all Drivers

Inside the 2025 Hummer EV you’ll find an impressive collection of technology—no surprise, given how much care and attention GMC has put into other areas of the Hummer EV. It comes standard with a large 13.4-inch touchscreen infotainment display, plenty of room for pulling up maps, your favorite music, or apps. It’s even easier to access your favorites with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and the Hummer EV also includes Google built-in apps making it even more convenient to access Google Maps, messages, and more.

If you’re an audiophile, the 14-speaker Bose sound system brings your music to life, creating a surround sound experience that envelopes every corner of your vehicle. Finally, wireless phone charging pads inside the cabin ensure every device is charged and ready for your next adventure.

THE HISTORY OF THE HUMMER

Safety and Convenience in Mind

With such a large and heavy vehicle, drivers may be curious if the Hummer EV also offers ample protection for both driver and passengers. The answer is, of course, yes! The 2025 Hummer EV includes tons of standard safety features to protect everyone on the road. Additionally, the GMC Pro Safety Plus Package includes the following safety features:

  • Lane Change Alert with Side Blind Zone Alert
  • Rear Cross Traffic Alert
  • Front and Rear Park Assist
  • Enhanced Automatic Emergency Braking

Other safety features include Front Pedestrian Braking, IntelliBeam auto high beams, Rear Pedestrian Alert, and a Following Distance Indicator.

A 360-degree camera system, called UltraVision, includes a view of every angle on your Hummer, including the underbody. You’ll feel like Batman in the Batmobile with the level of technology and security included in the Hummer EV.

For convenience and comfort, GMC has included some great features, like the viral Crabwalk mode. If you care about off-roading capabilities, this is the feature for you. Crabwalk allows the Hummer EV to move not just forwards and backwards, but diagonally as well. Perfect for navigating tight spaces or rough terrain that standard four-wheel steering just can’t compete with.

GMC SuperCruise, a hands-free driving system, is also included with the Hummer EV. This groundbreaking and futuristic feature is compatible with more than 200,000 miles of road in the U.S. and Canada, giving drivers another convenient way to drive.
